Overview

A Generic Vessel refers to a non-specific ship, ferry, boat, or similar watercraft used for collecting measurements in the water. These vessels can be equipped with various types of in situ or remote sensors to measure meteorological parameters, salinity, conductivity, water temperature, water depth, and other oceanic parameters. Other water-based platforms, such as buoys, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), and saildrones, may be deployed from the vessel.
